The artist jimmee freeez began working under this name in 2020. An experiment to see if it allowed him more freedom with his work. It did and has led to a revived, idiosyncratic output that utilises multiple ideas and materials. Including painting, collage, sculpture and ceramics. He scours many sources for imagery, and if he likes anything he will ‘have that, thank you very much’. But the initial appropriation is quickly assimilated by his own personal ethos, and becomes undeniably freeez. Subjects including portraits, selfies, to pornstar cam stars, and a horse struggling with a body featuring a quantum black hole, but still tenderly feeding its foal. ‘Fake plastic orleanders’ Acrylic, oil , letraset and marble dust on canvas 188cm x 93cm x 4cm 2022. £2200
