Natalia Hamon is a contemporary fine artist who in 2021 moved to a flat overlooking a scrubby wooded area in Penzance, Cornwall. As she became familiar with her surroundings Hamon felt drawn to create work in response. Choosing to juxtapose the domestic with that of nature. She explored how we humans tend to experience conflicting feelings about living alongside nature, finding a sense of awe at the beauty surrounding us, whilst viewing a nocturnal woodland with unease or insects as overwhelming invaders. “As I walked through the woods I found my self picking up fallen leaves and flowers, I decided to press them, and once flat, started arranging them utilising them for body parts of insects, birds or Leshy like creatures.” Natalia Hamon (co-habitat, May 2022). summer ascent 25cm x 26cm. £800
