Louise Wright is a contemporary fibre artist, who uses felted wool and silk, organza and stitch, to create intriguing and mysterious portraits. She hand cards fibres to mix colours which are laid down dry, then wet felted using hot water, soap and agitation to matt the fibres together. Once dry, needle felting can add fine detail. Louise explores issues of self, cultural heritage and identity. Previous work has confronted her family history in apartheid South Africa. Here vibrant skin colours reflect the spring flora on the Cornish coast where Louise now lives. A moment.  58x42cms  Wet and needle felted wool fibres. £500
